Effective for 2013, the Virginia Employment Commission stated the range of unemployment insurance tax rates for experienced employers is to be 0.68 percent to 6.78 percent, compared with 0.83 percent to 6.93 percent in 2012.
 
The commission also stated, standard 2013 unemployment insurance tax rate for new employers is to be 3.08 percent, down from 3.23 percent.
 
New contractors with out-of-state headquarters and delinquent employers are to be subject to a 6.78 percent unemployment insurance tax rate for 2013, down from 6.93 percent.
 
Rates for experienced employers and new employers for 2013 are to include a pool cost charge of 0.38 percent, down from 0.53 percent, and a 0.2 percent fund building tax, unchanged from 2012, the commission said.
