Florida

Florida is to be a Federal Unemployment Tax Act credit reduction state for 2012, with a reduction of 0.6 percent. The state Department of Economic Opportunity stated, Florida’s outstanding loan balance from the federal unemployment account will not be paid by November 10, 2012.

The credit reduction is to increase 2012 FUTA costs for Florida employers by up to $42 for each employee. The state Department of Revenue stated; effective for 2013, Florida’s unemployment insurance taxable wage base remains unchanged from 2012 at $8,000.00.
